Cici makes a strong statement with simple gestures. A cruciform wooden base supports a circular top to bold effect, while the top surface is nestled within the circular structure as if sitting on a plinth. The combination of oak and painter’s canvas is a signature of the Ann Demeulemeester furniture collection and a continuation of a relationship with these materials that dates back to earlier Ann Demeulemeester pieces. The textural contrast of the materials is emphasised in their colour treatment. Black-stained oak is paired with off-white canvas, brown-stained oak with painted cream canvas and a combination of natural and black oak.
