The essence of the Cora table is found in its off-set angles. Flat planks of off-white, cream, black or lilac beech wood are arranged at 90-degrees to create the legs – when light hits these planes, they cast shadows that create the illusion of additional lines within the composition. This arrangement also shapes the table-top, a 90-by-75-centimetre rectangle with corners cut out to accommodate the legs, producing an exaggerated cross similar to forms found in ancient architecture.
