CORD

A classic piece of mid-century modern design, the CORD Chair was conceived in 1953 by designer Jacques Guillon, who was decades ahead of his time in integrating the concepts of reduced materiality and upcycling; the original cord was leftover parachute cord from the war. Produced exclusively by Man of Parts in Italy with the approval of the Guillon family, these editions hold true to his vision.

The CORD Chair’s wood frame comes in black stained beech or clear stained walnut. The cord is tightly strung like a tennis racket and supports a surprising amount of weight. In fact, this design has passed CATAS tests for commercial environments. Seat pads in leather or fabric upholstery are available on request.
